We are a network of like-minded pet professionals that reside in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth Texas metroplex. We all refer to one another when one cannot service a client, they are out of our service area or for a variety of other reasons.

We all agree on training methods, philosophies and handling techniques for our pets. We all agree that we do not use –– or recommend professional trainers that use –– aversive tools/training and out-dated training methods such as those promoted by Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer).

You will only find pet professionals that adhere to the principals of the humane hierarchy of learning & a LIMA (Least Intrusive Minimally Aversive) training philosophy. These philosophies & methods ensure that every dog & dog owner is provided with the highest quality of training & behavior modification. Trainers & behavior consultants that follow these principals are up-to-date with modern training, current science & training techniques so that they will benefit all dogs & their owners.

 

All professionals listed on this website utilize Classical Conditioning & Operant Conditioning to train animals, regardless of species. Many of these trainers use clickers to train, but not all. However, all of the professionals listed on this site use positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement & negative punishment (never purposely choosing to use positive punishment). They utilize rewards & work with each dog on a case by case basis to meet that specific dog's needs. They also suggest the use of a licensed veterinarian that is educated in behavior & behavioral medicine when necessary.

 

Professionals on this website do not promote or utilize the use of of choke chains, prong/pinch collars, electronic collars (shock/e-collars) or electric fences.  The professionals listed on this website will not promote or suggest the methods or teachings of The Dog Whisperer (Cesar Milan) or philosophies surrounding pack theory and dominance. In order to join our network all professionals must agree to & adhere to these philosophies, methods & techniques. We encourage (but it's not currently mandatory) that all members to go through a Fear Free Certification in their field. Learn more about Fear Free Professionals here.
